John
(Jack) W. Olsen, PE, CFI
has BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University.
After graduate school, he conducted research in electric motors, generators, and
controls at the Westinghouse Research and Development Center and taught
electrical
engineering fundamentals at
the University of Pittsburgh.
In the early 1980's, he designed power electronic products and industrial
circuitry while employed as Chief Engineer of Power Control Corporation. Since
1986, Jack has been investigating fire, controls, and electric shock incidents
and allegations and conducting research in electro-forensics and fire science.
Jack is a Licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, he holds the paper
in Fire Investigation from the Institution of Fire Engineers (United Kingdom),
and he is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of
Fire Investigators.

James (Jim) R. Donia has AS degrees in Electrical
Technology and in Electrical Engineering Technology. As a technician in the
electronics field, he built and wired a
variety of complex industrial electronic
systems. In the mid 1980's, he entered the quality assurance field and became
a quality manager at Robicon, a manufacturer of power electronic equipment.
He is a Certified Quality Technician, and a Lead Assessor qualified to perform
quality audits. Jim joined Olsen Engineering, Inc. in 1998. He
instruments and documents experiments for fire-science and engineering
investigations, creates computer drawings, participates in fire-scene and
artifact examinations, coordinates services with outside laboratories,
interfaces with public sector investigators, and performs literature searches.
